About the Villages Pops Orchestra
Our History
The Villages Pops Orchestra began in 2011 as The Villages Strings Orchestra, a small group of string players. Today, the "Pops" has approximately 65 musicians, some of which were former professionals or former high-school and college performers. As the only All - Villager orchestra, the Pops has grown in popularity as well as membership.

Soloists Perform at the Pops
A diverse program of musical works from around the world. You will not want to miss this concert. Some of the composers being featured will be Marquez, Debussy, Sibelius, Puccini, Lecuona, Lloyd-Webber and many more. Jazz, impressionistic, rock, Latin....they're all included. Looking further into the future, the Pops will open it's 2026-2027 season featuring soloists from within the orchestra as well as guest artists. Featured soloists will perform on clarinet and cornet, with other possibilities on saxophone, piano and cello. So stay tuned on our website for more updates.
Our Mission
The Villages Pops Orchestra is comprised solely of residents of The Villages in Central Florida. Our vision is to provide high quality music of varied genres to the community. From Broadway scores to the classical repertoire, the Pops presents concerts suited for all audiences.
The Orchestra rehearses every Tuesday morning from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Laurel Manor Recreation Center. Preparing for each concert is hard work, however rehearsals are enjoyable, and have been the source of long and meaningful friendships between its members, board and musical director.
